We are almost at the point of ending our frantic months of fairs and we stop to take stock of everything that has happened to us so far. We crossed the pond, for the first time Hosbo skins have set foot on American, Lineapelle NY, soil and the experience was magnificent and, above all, very enriching. Milan and Paris came later. Lineapelle and Premiere Vision, respectively, have welcomed and wrapped us, with the same affection as always. This year has not been different, and we have noticed the warmth of all the Lineapelle and Premiere Vision attendees, who have been many. Thanks to all of them, for the interest shown in our brand and skins. But relax, we’re not finished yet, Futurmoda is waiting for us.

Futurmoda, 14 and 15 March at IFA.

At this point, and just a couple of weeks after the end of the Fair season, we still have our most inescapable visit. Futurmoda is the last stop and this time, we are caught near home. Despite the magnitude of the trips and fairs we have visited, Futurmoda is a date that we at Hosbo always look forward to with great enthusiasm. This has become one of the great European showcases of footwear components and the event takes place in our city, Elche, linked for much of its history to the shoe industry. More than 12,000 square metres of exhibition space and around 300 companies, data from the last edition in October, present their proposals for the new SS19 season.

Futurmoda has two appointments a year; the next one, on 14 and 15 March at the IFA exhibition centre, where it receives a large influx of national and international professional assistants. The perfect setting to showcase our latest collection and put the finishing touches to an unforgettable exhibition season. We will keep you informed of all our steps. In recent years, a social alarm has been created around certain chemical components. One of them is chrome and its use in accessories such as shoes. Chromium is a metal element that has high properties such as corrosion resistance, durability and hardness. These compounds have been used for different uses over the years and one of the most widely used has been the leather tanning process. Using the “chrome tanning” method. The fear for this process comes through the appearance of people with salts allergies that this material can produce. In addition, this material may act as a skin irritant to excessive exposure.

Differences between chromium 3 and chromium 6

The chrome-based technological process is used in 85% of leather tanning processes. The problem and possible health consequences lie during the tanning process. The trivalent, chromium three, can oxidize during the process and result in the hexavalent, which is potentially toxic to humans and animals. In an attempt to allay fears, the International Union of Societies of Tanning Technicians and Chemicals has launched a study assessing the real dangers of this component and the conclusions are clear and decisive. Through appropriate controls, it is totally possible to prevent the appearance of toxic elements in the leathers produced by this mineral.

At Hosbo we have an eco-friendly chrome-free line

At Hosbo, we take care of our production process in detail and strictly follow the health policies and regulations, so that under no circumstances will the health of final consumers be put at risk. Through relevant samples and studies, our leather, both cut and lining, is free of six chrome. In addition, in order to reach a larger number of people, we have a totally ecological line, free of both three and six. An initiative carried out for those people who choose a 100% natural and eco-friendly product of the best possible quality.

The start of the year for Hosbo is a period of travel, finishing touches and stress and nervousness so that everything is ready and perfect before seeing the light. From January to March, we travel around the world visiting leather fairs where we present our new collections, in this case SS 19. A sample of all the hard work done in the previous months.

This year, and as a novelty, we will cross the pond and visit New York. A novelty that makes us very happy and fills us with great satisfaction. However, it is not the only important event; Lineapelle Milan and the Paris Fair, as well as Futurmoda Elche, are also waiting for us.

Despite the fact that they are frenzied months, many hours of flying and little time at home, the fairs mean that everything has gone according to the objectives set and that the work has been carried out satisfactorily. This kind of events for us, are the essential showcase to show our products. A gallery where visitors can see, beyond a simple photo, touch, ask and maintain direct and personal contact with the spokespersons of the different companies.

In addition, Hosbo’s team sees the fairs as a great opportunity to establish new business relationships, get to know, learn and discover brands that perform meticulous and precious work. We love to keep abreast of all the news in the sector and improve day by day through our work.

Fair Calendar: January-March

We leave you a calendar with the dates in the different fairs, so that you can follow our steps and be always informed of our adventures.

Lineapelle NY: January 31st – February 1st.

Premiere Vision Paris: 13-15 February.

Lineapelle Milan: 20-21-22 February.

Futurmoda Elche: 14-15 March.

In the heart of Chelsea, specifically in the Metropolitan Pavilion, from January 1st to February 31st, Lineapelle New York will take place. A fair full of the latest trends in leather, textiles and accessories and components for footwear, handbags and leather goods.

This fair is held twice a year, in February and July, presenting the new collections for summer and winter respectively. The event will be attended by many European producers and manufacturers of leathers and components, who present their proposals to fashion designers and people in the sector. In this way, both parties can be nurtured and visitors and interested in capturing new trends can discover new colours and textures in leathers and accessories suitable for their next collections.

All products on display at Lineapelle are subject to quality standards.

The high quality and variety shown in Lienapelle NY, make it an unavoidable event in the sector. In addition, the entire exhibition that is presented at the fair must be certified according to the standards of quality, social responsibility, environment, product, origin, etc. In this way, everything that is exposed, implicitly carries the highest quality.

Hosbo will be in Lineapelle NY at STAND 95 of Second Floor

The HOSBO team will be at booth 95 of the Second Floor of the Metropolitan Pavilion, during January 31st and February 1st. As we have already mentioned in previous posts, in NY, as in all the fairs we attended until March, we presented the new SS19 collection. Successes or future business relationships will come a few months later. This type of event is a great exhibitor that allows the creation of possible relationships between leather manufacturers, such as HOSBO, and designers or producers, who require leather to carry out their work. In short, a win-win, which makes us value these opportunities and work to progress every day.

A new year begins and at Hosbo we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to thank all our customers for the confidence shown during this year and the affection received. We would also like to take this opportunity to take stock of our personal growth in 2017. This feeling is reinforced by the help we have tried to give to the most disadvantaged groups of people. This is something that has undoubtedly become our main purpose for this 2018, to continue to contribute our small grain of sand.

At Hosbo we collaborate with various associations
For the past few years, at Hosbo, we have been committed to our corporate social responsibility and therefore, we are active members of different associations that help the most disadvantaged in the hardest times. Having the possibility of helping others and sharing what we have is part of our brand philosophy and our beliefs as a company and human team.

One of the platforms with which we collaborate is; Aid to Elche Syrian Refugees. A not-for-profit association that is disconnected from the political scene and seeks to alleviate the situation of exclusion suffered by the Syrian people, especially children. It offers the possibility for companies, other associations or individuals to contribute their bit with food, donations or any other help that may be necessary. A few months ago, the platform, together with the collaborators, managed to fill and discharge a container filled with 100 tons of food, footwear and hygiene products for Thessaloniki (Greece).

Elche Acoge advocates for the rights of immigrants
In addition, we are part of the network of companies committed to the diversity of Elche Acoge, an NGO that aims to promote the rights of immigrants and create relationships between them and our city, promoting their rights. They are also helped to promote their own autonomy and personal and social development.

In addition to this project, at Hosbo we work every day to continue helping and there are many associations with which we collaborate: doctors without borders, Red Cross and international amnesty, among others. All this, to bring a little hope and light to the people who need it most.

At this time, when feelings of cooperation and altruism are on the rise, we are taking advantage of this opportunity to demand the help of whoever wants or can, and we are calling for joint cooperation so that there are fewer and fewer people at risk of social exclusion and in disadvantaged situations.
